Southeast Gem & Mineral Show 2009  Show Report

 The Kudzu Minerals team was all pumped for the 2nd Annual Southeast Gem & Mineral show. Last year was the first for this Martin Zinn Productions show. It takes place in the Holiday Inn, in Cartersville, Georgia which is just yards from the Northwest Georgia Tellus Science Museum. We had a great show then, and had hopes that this one would be as good or better. This show is set up like the world famous one that takes place in Tucson, Arizona every year. The show dealers set up in motel rooms and customers shop from room to room. Many dealers sleep in the same room that they sell from. This allows for extended hours and maybe an extra deal or two! This year we brought my nephew Allen along to help.

 

 

 He did a great job, especially with setting up our store. We soon realized what an asset it is to have a 21 year old with muscles on the team!

Before long, we were all set up. We incorporated a new layout for our room this year. It worked out really well. It provided much more space for customers to move around in. During the show, the motel allows dealers to shift the furniture around in each room to suit their needs. We got really creative with ours this time. We managed to stuff a whole bed with linens, 6 pillows, bed rails, and a large TV in the bathroom. Our dexterity ended up being quite a spectacle for customers entering the room. They were amused at what we had done.
